Marsa Nakari Part 1, 2nd to 9th Dec 2022

After 5 trips to Marsa Shagra we thought we would give this place a try & boy it did not disappoint. A lot quieter & more laid back than Shagra. The House Reef was stunning especially the Anemone City on the North Reef. Highlight of the week was visiting Dolphin House with 2 fabulous Dives & Snorkelling with the resident Pod of Spinner Dolphins. Awesome & a big thank you to Camille our Guide & to all the staff at the Resort. Will definitely be back soon

From our camp, the Marsa Shagra, we take quick trips with the Zodiac. First we visit the legendary Elphinstone Reef. On the south side we observe a turtle. On the north plateau we meet the resident barracuda and mackerel in the dark blue. Then we go to Abu Dabbab No. 5. The first part of the dive leads through a canyon landscape before we end it in a field of colorful corals and anemones.

Shagra at Night

Night dives can be launched daily from the beach at Marsa Shagra's house reef. Our dive goes along the North Reef. At night there is a lot of activity here, we find the large nocturnal moray eels and a busy torpedo ray. On the way back, it is also worth taking a closer look in the shallow water area - various curious crabs cavort here that are easy to overlook.

We went to Marsa Nakari in May for the first time! We stayed 2 weeks and completed our AOW course too. We dived the house reef a lot as well as dolphin house, shaab nakari and habili nakari. We saw so many animals and just wanted to showcase the variety of marine life you can see!
